Three banks, three errors — one commercial report corrected.
By Vaidhehi P, Sr. Credit Analyst, Kenstone Credit.
Background
Mahakali Fashion, based in Surat, Gujarat, approached us to resolve multiple data-mismatch issues in their commercial CIBIL report. They wanted one simple thing: a report that reflects the true and accurate status of their accounts, because the incorrect information was weighing on their credit profile.
What I found
Three distinct problems, three different banks, and each a different kind of error:
1. Janata Sahakari Bank Ltd, cash credit account. The classification was wrongly marked as SMA (Special Mention Account), even though the account had been properly closed.
2. Jana Small Finance Bank Limited, medium-term loan. A loan account that did not belong to them at all was reflecting in their report.
3. State Bank of India, bank guarantee. Closed long back, but still showing as active.
A wrong classification, a stranger's account, and a stale status, each drags a commercial profile in its own way, and each demands a different correction path.
My approach
After a detailed analysis, I raised the concerns with the respective banks as well as with TransUnion CIBIL. Commercial corrections rarely move on their own: it took continuous follow-ups and proper rectification procedures with each institution to carry all three disputes to closure.
The result
Why this case matters
A commercial report can be wrong in three ways at once, and none of them the company's fault. What corrects it is not one dispute but a coordinated set: each bank addressed individually, the bureau addressed in parallel, and every thread followed up until the record actually changes. The client's report now reflects their actual conduct, and shared the video testimonial below appreciating the support. Published with the client's written consent.
