Remove a written-off status from CIBIL — when it's wrong.

"Written-off" is among the heaviest remarks a credit report can carry — and one of the most commonly misapplied. If your dues were genuinely cleared, the remark can be disputed with evidence and corrected across all four bureaus. Here's exactly how, and exactly what's possible when it can't.

01 · Sound familiar?

How people discover it.

I repaid the loan years ago and hold the NOC — but my report says written-off.The strongest possible dispute: your own closure documents against the lender's wrong reporting. I settled the dues, the agent said it's done — the report never changed.Lenders routinely fail to update bureaus after payment. The update has to be pursued, not assumed. Every loan application dies at screening, and this one old remark is why.A written-off flag outweighs years of clean history at most lenders — which is why it's worth fixing properly. The dues are real — I just couldn't pay back then. Is there anything honest I can do?Yes: a negotiated settlement in writing, then accurate reporting. Slower than magic. Real, unlike magic.

02 · The honest split

What can be removed — and what can't.

Disputable — with evidence

  • Dues fully repaid, NOC or closure letter in hand — still marked written-off
  • Account settled as agreed, but the status never updated after payment
  • Written-off reported on an account that isn't yours at all
  • The amount or dates are simply wrong on the record

These are corrected through documented disputes with the lender and all four bureaus — CIBIL, Experian, Equifax and CRIF High Mark — tracked to verified closure.

Not removable — and what is possible instead

  • Genuinely unpaid dues, accurately reported — no agency can delete truth
  • Anyone promising guaranteed deletion of accurate remarks is misleading you

The honest path: we negotiate structured settlements and waivers with the lender in writing, with the report consequences explained before you sign — then ensure the record updates accurately. That's our Custom plan — see it done in one documented 14-day case →

Can a written-off status be removed from CIBIL?

+
Yes — when the remark is wrong. If your dues were genuinely cleared and you hold NOCs or closure letters, the remark can be disputed with that evidence and corrected across all four bureaus. What can't be removed is a remark that accurately reflects unpaid dues — for that, the honest path is settlement first, then correct reporting.

What if my dues are genuinely unpaid?

+
Then nobody can simply delete the remark — and anyone promising to is misleading you. The real path is a negotiated settlement or waiver with the lender, in writing, with the credit consequences explained before you sign — then ensuring the report updates accurately afterwards. That's our Custom plan.

Does paying off a written-off account fix things automatically?

+
No — lenders frequently fail to update bureaus after payment. The update must be pursued: dispute raised with proof, tracked to closure, verified on every bureau.

How long does it take?

+
Typically 30–45 working days per dispute when documentation is complete. Your timeline is stated in writing after we review your report — before any payment.

Written-off and settled — same thing?

+
No. "Settled" means the lender accepted less than the full dues; "written-off" means the lender gave up on recovery. Both hurt, written-off hurts more — and both are correctable when wrongly reported.

One remark shouldn't outweigh your whole history.

Share your report and your documents — we'll tell you if the remark is disputable, your timeline, and your fixed price. Before you pay anything.
